As the first African American woman to serve as a Councilwoman for Monterey City Council, District 1, and currently as Vice Mayor, Dr. Brown Barber has proven her leadership and commitment to her community.
With over 10 years of experience as a real estate broker in the eastern U.S., she brings a wealth of knowledge, negotiation skills, and a client-first approach to her work in real estate. Dr. Brown Barber's background in public service and education provides her with unique insight into the needs of her clients, ensuring she delivers personalized and impactful solutions.
Dr. Brown Barber holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Hampton University, a Master’s in International Business from the University of Maryland, and a Doctorate in Public Policy and Social Change from Union Institute and University. In addition to her extensive real estate career, she is also the CEO of her own brand, Dr. Kim, where she empowers women worldwide to unlock their full potential. She is the author of Unlock Your Power, a motivational guide that encourages women of all backgrounds to lead powerful, purpose-driven lives.
